Dr. Myrtle E. Gray Outstanding Youth Award
Criteria for Award:
- The nominees shall exhibit a strong leadership and outstanding achievement.
- The recipient must be 18 years or younger at the time of the award presentation.
- The recipient is recognized in their community as a leader, civic-minded and improving the quality of life in their community.
- The nominees shall be outstanding individuals who have been involved in community service projects, and have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their school and/or community.
- Children of members of the Advancement and Partnership Committee are not eligible to receive the award.
Instructions
Nomination Process
Nominate a noteworthy member of the community for one of the Tuscaloosa Civil Rights History and Reconciliation Foundation Awards. Nominations are due by February 15, 2023. A person may be nominated for more than one award, but, if selected, the person will receive only one award. Posthumous nominations are accepted.

- One support letter is required (250 words or less); a second support letter from another person is optional, but strongly encouraged.
